Fernando Perdomo is a powerhouse of the LA music scene who lives and breathes music LA Weekly dubbed him as “The millennial answer to Todd Rundgren”. A veteran at 37, he has made a name for himself as an in-demand producer, singer/songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist.
Perdomo is a product of the eclectic record collection he put together at an early age as a regular customer in every thrift store and flea market in Miami. He also owns and operates Reseda Ranch Studios in Reseda, California. Some of his current projects include folk legend Linda Perhacs, Dean Ford, Andy Pratt, Rebecca Pidgeon, Cristina Vane, Jacob Jeffries, The Dirty Diamond, Ex Norwegian, Alih Jey, Emitt Rhodes (as a bass player), Dave Kerzner (as a bassist and guitarist), Cait Brennan, Ken Sharp, and TV music for Honda, Target, McDonalds, Goya, Dunkin' Donuts, Toyota, Shameless and Dexter.
ON THE ROAD... IN THE STUDIO...
Perdomo's touring and recording credits include Christian Castro, Paulina Rubio, Soraya, Mika, Sam Moore (of Sam and Dave), Frankie Negron, Hilary McCrae, Elsten Torres, and Dave Kerzner. Perdomo performs annually on the Cruise To The Edge, a progressive rock music cruise experience, as the guitarist for Dave Kerzner Band; in 2019, however, he will be performing with his own Out To Sea band. In 2014, Perdomo joined acclaimed LA band the Dirty Diamond with performances at the Greek Theater, House of Blues, the Avalon, the Roxy and the Troubadour under their belt.
OUT TO SEA BAND
In early 2018, Perdomo released his first instrumental Progressive Rock album, Out To Sea on Forward Motion Records in the US and The Right Honourable Recording Company in the UK. The album was recorded and produced by Perdomo at his own Reseda Ranch Studios, mixed and mastered by Grammy Award winner Zach Ziskin, with cover art by Paul Whitehead. Whitehead album cover credits include Genesis' Trespass, Nursery Cryme, and Foxtrot as well as Peter Hammill and Van Der Graaf Generator. Its follow up, Out To Sea 2, was released Feb 2019 in conjunction with Fernando being an official artist on Cruise to The Edge 2019.
DAVE KERZNER BAND / IN CONTINUUM
In 2015, Perdomo recorded most of the bass and guitars on the acclaimed album New World by Dave Kerzner, along with Steve Hackett (Genesis), Keith Emerson (ELP), Simon Phillips (The Who), Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree), Durga McBroom Hudson (Pink Floyd), Francis Dunnery, Nick D'Virgilio, Billy Sherwood and more. In 2017, Perdomo also recorded most of the bass and guitars on Kerzner’s highly-acclaimed second solo album, Static. Throughout 2017-2018, he performed with the Dave Kerzner Band at ProgDay Festival, ProgStock Festival, and Progtoberfest III at ProgDreams VII Festival in Amsterdam. Perdomo also is involved in Kerzer's latest project, In Continuum, performing alongside Gabriel Agudo (Steve Rothery Band / Bad Dreams), bassist Matt Dorsey, guitarist Randy McStine and drummer Marco Minnemann.
ECHO IN THE CANYON
On October 12, 2015, Perdomo was one of the guitar players at the "Echo In The Canyon" concert in Los Angeles with Fiona Apple, Jakob Dylan, Regina Spektor, Beck, Cat Power, and Jade Castrinos. Perdomo is also featured on the companion album and film with the same name which premiered at the 2018 LA Film Festival which included a performance at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre on September 20, 2018 in Hollywood, California alongside Jackson Browne and Michelle Phillips (Mamas And The Papas).
Perdomo is a very prolific recording artist in his own right with a huge catalog of releases under his own name, various pseudonyms plus collaborations. His 4th 'true' solo album, The Golden Hour, released in the summer of 2017, and recorded at the iconic Ardent Studios in Memphis, TN, with the help of engineer Adam Hill. It's mixed and mastered by Grammy Award Winner Zach Ziskin.
Previous solo albums by Perdomo include: Home Is Wherever You Are (September 2012), Warm (April 2014), and Voyeurs (August 2016) as well as the more guitar orientated Dances with a Mysterious Blonde (October 2016) and Fernando Perdomo Guitar Album (June 2014). Other alias include Encino Evil, Stones and the Black Galaxy.
A visit to iconic studio Abbey Road in July 2018 resulted in an album called Zebra Crossing, released November 9, 2018 via Yes' management label The Right Honourable Recording Company. The album mixes his pop/rock singer/songwriter material alongside instrumental and progressive rockers.
